With the economic growth and the increase in population, the growth of the medical device market in emerging countries, including ASEAN countries, is expected to exceed the growth in Japan, the United States, and European countries. When small- to medium-sized manufacturing enterprises based in Tokyo try to expand their businesses into these regions, it is important to understand the local needs and expand products with reasonable prices. The need for medical devices varies greatly depending on country-specific factors such as the status of medical insurance system and infrastructure development, lifestyle, customs, and the level of education and skills of medical personnel.
Therefore, this project will provide these enterprises opportunities to visit these countries so that they can understand the real needs of local medical personnel, reflect such needs in their medical device development, and build a network to successfully enter the markets.
In cooperation with the Medical-Industrial HUB Organization of Tokyo and relevant organizations, the project promotion coordinators will support these enterprises in building continuous relationships with local related organizations.
